The Architecture of Light exhibition image

Down County Museum Runs until 01 December 2017

An exhibition of new work by artist Sheena Devitt and the pupils of Holy Family Primary School, Teconnaught, using drawing and stone carving as a way of researching the use of light, space and proportion in Cistercian Architecture, in particular Inch Abbey, Downpatrick. The uncluttered design of the buildings with their harmonious proportions and subtle play of light are a reminder to the visitor of a quieter, simpler existence.
